Hatem Elagha
Executive Director
Hello all. I am the Founder and Executive Director of Kindi Academy. I believe in the vast potential and intelligences embedded in each and every child. My goal is to unleash that power and bring those skills and abilities to the world. The school is built on that premise.
The school started as a home schooling project for my own children and grew into the school we have today. Many people say they get a family feel being around in the school. That feeling haven't evanesced through the years! Add that to a top quality academic program, and you have a magical recipe. This is what Kindi is all about!
I am married with seven children, three graduated from Kindi and two are current students. My oldest two missed out on the fun!
I love reading, food, being with friends, and travelling. I am proud of all my staff and they do a great job day in and day out. I hope to see you as part of the Kindi family soon!

MONTESSORI 3-6 PROGRAM (PRESCHOOL-KG)
Radhika Shah
Primary Montessori Director
Early Childhood Lead
Hello everyone! I'm the director of the 3-6 Montessori program, and this is my sixth year at Kindi Academy. I have been a Montessori teacher for 16 years and hold a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in English from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Growing up in a large family, I’ve been surrounded by children my entire life, which helped spark my passion for teaching from a young age.As the early childhood director, my role is to support our amazing teachers and assistants while serving as a key connection for our 3-6 families. Although I’m no longer in the classroom full-time, I love staying involved with the children—whether working with them one-on-one in my office or stepping in as a substitute teacher. This balance allows me to stay connected with the kids while helping to ensure the program runs smoothly.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family, baking, hiking, painting, attending concerts and seasonal festivals, watching movies and shows, and traveling. After backpacking through Western Europe for five weeks following high school, I’ve developed a love for exploration. One day, I hope to check Greece, Ireland, Scotland, and Alaska off my bucket list!

Hi everyone!
I am thrilled to be joining the Kindi Academy community! I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Eastern Illinois University and a master's degree in Secondary Education with a focus in Visual Arts from Indiana University Northwest. I am currently completing my Elementary Education endorsement through Lewis University, which I
will finish in December 2025.
As a student-centered educator, I create engaging, inquiry-based lessons that spark curiosity and deeper thinking. I believe students learn best when they ask questions, explore real-world problems, and work collaboratively to find solutions. My teaching style encourages hands-on learning, creativity, and student voice.
When I’m not in the classroom, I love spending time with my dog, Ridge, relaxing with a good book, and expressing my creativity through various art projects.
I’m excited to bring my passion for education to Kindi Academy and look forward to an
inspiring and enriching school year ahead!

Hello! I am very happy to be back teaching at Kindi. In my previous three years at Kindi, I taught Earth and space science, biology, advanced biology, chemistry and physics to middle school students.
Before deciding to become a teacher, I worked as a scientist in cancer and endocrine research at the University of Michigan after earning a degree in microbiology and chemistry from Eastern Michigan University. After becoming a mom to my two lovely children, I realized how much I enjoyed teaching, so I went back to university and got my education degree from Texas Woman’s University. For the last few years, I have been teaching science to children as young as two years old, up to middle schoolers. I love teaching science because it explains how everything works in this vast universe. I hope to instill in children of all ages a love for learning, respect for nature, and eagerness to always stay curious.

Hi. I have had the pleasure of being a part of Kindi Academy for eight years now. Kindi Academy is an amazing school that has a nurturing, loving environment where children can learn and experience new challenges that will help build their confidence. Each child is unique, therefore they learn and thrive at their own pace.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. I have 15 years of experience in teaching Chemistry and Physics, and over 25 years teaching math. I grew up in Iran, Tehran. I am married with three kids Armin, Farzeen, and Tina. Outside of the school, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, decorating, hiking, arranging a party, and traveling.
My passion for teaching began when I was 14 when I used to help my friends and family. I find joy in witnessing a child learn something new, knowing that I was a main influence in them doing so. The impact I make in their lives makes for an even bigger and more gratifying impact in my own life.

Greetings! I am delighted to be a technology teacher at Kindi Academy. I fell in love with computing in middle school when the first generation of computers were reaching the classroom. As a teacher, I strive to recreate the feeling of wonder, excitement, and
possibilities that fascinated me as a young person.
The first half of my career was spent as a software engineer, and the current half has been devoted to education. I taught for ten years at the Technology Center of DuPage as the instructor for the Computer Information Systems / Game Design program and also as adjunct faculty at College of DuPage. I have masters degrees in both teaching and computer science.
I am the father of twin boys, both of whom are in college. One is studying computer science, the other, engineering. When not exploring various facets of technology, I enjoy spending time with my family and three dogs, exercising outdoors, and playing the guitar.

Hello and Salam! I’m grateful and honored to be part of the Kindi Academy family as and Arabic and Islamic Studies teacher. I was born and raised in Kichevo, North Macedonia, and have always had a deep-rooted passion for Islamic education.
Coming from a family of educators, my father is a retired math teacher, and my grandfather was one of the first teachers in our region—I naturally followed their path. I graduated from Al-Azhar University in Cairo with a degree in Law and later earned my Master’s in Shari’ah from the American Open University. I also received specialized training in Fatwa and religious counseling from Darul-Ifta in Cairo.
Before moving to the U.S. in 2020, I served as a senior religious consultant and community leader in the Islamic Union of North Macedonia. Since then, I’ve continued my journey in education, teaching Arabic and Quran and helping students build strong foundations in their faith and language.
Teaching has always been more than a job for me—it’s a calling. I’m passionate about nurturing a love for the Quran and Arabic in young hearts, and I’m thrilled to bring that energy to the students at Kindi Academy.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and engaging with my

Art Teacher
Hola! I am very excited to be the Art teacher for your children at Kindi. I am a busy grandmother of two, mother of five, three young men and two thriving teenage girls who graduated from Kindi Academy. Hence how I became an enthusiastic active parent who just couldn't leave!
In my early years, my career path began in Architecture, swayed to Interior Design, Business Administration, Event Décor, Event Planning to then find myself back to my all-time passion, Art. And with great pride I find myself at Kindi Academy.
I have always been invested in the arts, my passions for the arts range from Fine Arts, Applied Arts and Performing Arts. I am a firm believer in children having a creative outlet to express themselves and achieve self-confidence,
creativity, and cultural awareness. They can do all of this through art. Art opens our minds and hearts and shows us what could be possible. Art taps on the creative side of the children's brain and their imagination to come up with an impressive piece, maybe even perfect, or as my students would quote me “Imperfectly Perfect.”
It is an honor to be a part of the Kindi staff and assist your children in learning and developing new skills.
