The children put on a wonderful performance. Each child presented their role so beautifully. The colorful costumes allowed them to shine throughout the room. The parents and families that came out really enjoy the performance. Thank you to Ms. Dyslin for orchestrating the event. Ms. Ruxana's great backdrop paintings added more glory to the event. Thanks to Ms. Najma for managing a great performance by the children. The celebration was a perfect wrap to the end of the first semester before sending the school to a two-week winter break. A generous donation of close to 240 toys were distributed to needy children at the Women's Shelter in Wheaton and the ICNA Refugee Assistance program in Aurora. The Kindi family has once again proved to be a giving and caring one. Thank you for all who donated.
Students and teachers dressed up as various characters, such as Abraham Lincoln, Einstein, Rosa Parks, Muhammad Ali, Barack Obama, Queen Elizabeth, and many more. One of our students even dressed up as Mr. Hatem Elagha, our very own director. The costumes brought many smiles and laughter. The children presented their chosen character to their respective classrooms. Then, they had the opportunity to interview others to learn more about their characters. The costumes looked brilliant and some were very crafty and reflected the student's creativity and originality. Children from various grades came together and put on quite a performance for our parents and teachers. Some talented children sang and danced as others acted out a play. They beautifully simulated the Pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj). It was an informative, yet entertaining event for all. Fifteen of our students participated in the Tunnel of Fire activity at Chicago Fire's last game of the season. The children formed the player tunnel, which the players walked through as they get introduced onto the field. The children got to stay on the field for the national anthem, fireworks, and player introductions. Then they headed to the bleachers, grabbed prime seating, and got to enjoy the game up close and personal. Everyone had a blast, although the weather was a bit chilly. On this day in May 2013, students attended class until 12:30 pm. They then raced outside to unleash their energy on lots of fun and games. Students engaged in a tug of war and a water gun fight against the teachers, which everyone enjoyed. We were blessed with pleasant weather under sunny skies. At the end of the day, the students helped themselves to some refreshments from the concession stand. It was a day to remember. The fun fair took place on a beautiful sunny day in September 2013, where family, friends, and neighbors joined us in a joyous occasion. Smiles and laughter filled the field. The children enjoyed pony rides, moon jumps, the petting zoo, animal balloons, and more. They then savored some good BBQ and items from our concession stand. It was fun filled day and we thank everyone for coming out. |
